A tip for any average girl with an average figure and lack a little height:

High waisted garments and a little bareness of the skin will work wonders.

Or that I look slimmer and taller when in reality I’ve been binge eating cookies all week. I rarely work out and desserts make up the biggest portion of my daily food intake. And (don’t judge me) I try to wear skirts more often with the sole intention of having an excuse to take the elevator to class. I tend to get a little awkward when I get these complements so my response usually goes like, no, it’s this sweater or the skirt, or the way this top hides my very bloated stomach. In other words, it is pretty much just an illusion.

Pretty hair, effortless make-up, heels (obviously but also optionally), and high waisted bottoms to fake a silhouette, and showing the least bit of midriff to fake a flat tummy.  

Congrats to all the girls who can actually admit they’re in spectacular shape because this girl cannot say the same. I am just living each day figuring out how I can avoid any activities that make me feel like I’m having a heart attack or come too close to knowing what death feels like.

So as The Trapp family would so eloquently sing (of course without the Nazis and living in the 2000’s), high-waisted dresses and warm woolen crop tops, these are a few of my favorite things.
